First Grade Sub Plans

11/20/2014

In preparation for a first grade sub position today, I needed a fun full days work ASAP!

After a little searching on Pinterest and TpT, I found this outstanding packet on Goldilocks and the Three Bears via First Grade Blue Skies.

I was so impressed with the contents, I couldn't wait to use it with the students. Unfortunately, but fortunately there was no need to prep because the day was already laid out for me.

On the bright side, I'm still very anxious to use these materials and am pleased with my purchase.
Preview the images from the packet below and feel free to check out Jennifer's more detailed description about this product and some of the other materials on her blog.

In preparation for this lesson, I purchased Goldilocks and the Three Bears by James Marshall. I preferred this selection for the read aloud because it's much less wordy than a few other editions and the illustrations are fair.

I would have rather used Caralyn & Mark Buehner's version because of the more modern illustrations and detailed story, but I feel first graders will have a more difficult time getting through such lengthy read.

There are countless versions of this classic title. If you know of any other great editions, please leave a comment below with the author's name.

I also downloaded another great resource, the B, M, E Sub Tub via Ashley Reed of Just Reed!. Everything you will need throughout the beginning, middle and end of the first grade school year.

Take a few minutes to preview the material and see if it's something you'd find helpful.

I'm currently a sub for grades K-5 and would love to know of any resources you love using for your substitute plans. Leave a comment below with your tips and links. They will be greatly appreciated!
