Recently, I created a simple worksheet for my 3-year-old that focused on CVC words with the "op" sound—words like pop, hop, mop, and top. The activity was straightforward: each word was placed in a balloon, and he was asked to color each balloon a different color. This simple task turned out to be highly effective. Not only did it hold his attention, but it also gave him a sense of accomplishment as he worked through each word. The combination of phonics practice with a fun coloring activity made learning enjoyable for him. For parents and educators looking for a no-prep, high-impact activity, these worksheets are a great option. It encourages early reading skills while also allowing for a bit of creative expression. Plus, it’s always rewarding to see your child engage with and enjoy the learning process. Take a look at the images below to see what's included with this resource.
