Life Update: A New Chapter in the Blog and My Life

Hello and Happy New Year! I wanted to take a moment to update you all on the exciting changes happening both in my life and with the blog. If you've been following me for a while, you know that I started this journey as a special education teacher in New York City, creating resources primarily for grades 2 - 5. Fast forward a few years, and now I'm a full-time homeschool mom to my wonderful four-year-old son and a busy one-year-old daughter. Life is very different now, and so is my focus!

From Teacher to Homeschool Mom

As a former public school special education teacher, I spent years developing resources for students and teachers in a traditional classroom setting. I loved finding ways to make learning enjoyable and effective, especially for students with different learning needs. These days, my focus has shifted to early childhood education, specifically preschool through first grade, as I work on activities and lessons for my son at home.

Don’t worry, though—I’m not abandoning those resources for older students! I will continue to make and share materials for grades two through five, but for now, much of my attention is going toward creating fun and educational content for younger learners.

Juggling Life as a Homeschool Mom

Let me tell you, trying to balance everything is no easy task! Potty training, sleep training, breastfeeding, homeschooling, cooking, cleaning, laundry, scheduling play dates—it’s a lot. Most days, I feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. And on top of all of that, I’m also trying to figure out how to carve out time for self-care, which, as many of you know, is so important but so hard to maintain as a mom.

But amidst the chaos, I am committed to keeping this blog a place for sharing valuable resources and ideas, especially for parents and teachers who are navigating similar journeys. Whether it’s a fun activity for your preschooler, a tool to help your older student succeed, or a link to a helpful educational site, I’m here to support you as you support your little learners.

A Private Person in a Public Space

Now, onto a topic that I’ve been grappling with for a while: sharing personal images. I’m a pretty private person, and as an introvert, I find it challenging to put myself out there. You may have noticed that I don’t share a lot of personal photos on the blog or social media, and that’s because I value my privacy.

However, I also understand that people connect more easily when they can put a face to the words they’re reading. So while you may not see many pictures of me, I hope that my stories, experiences, and resources will still help you feel that connection.

What You Can Expect Moving Forward

In terms of the blog’s direction, I’ll continue sharing posts about education, parenting, and homeschooling. You’ll find a mix of practical tips, resource links, and personal experiences from my life as a homeschool mom. I’m a big believer in sharing what I’ve learned, whether it’s from my teaching days or the daily lessons I’m learning as a mom of two little ones.

As always, my resources are designed to make learning fun, effective, and accessible. I aim to create materials that save teachers time, enhance student understanding, and, most importantly, make assignments enjoyable for kids. Differentiated instruction is key, and I strive to provide resources that cater to a variety of learning styles and needs.

I hope this update helps you feel a little more connected to me and what I’m working on.
Thank you for following along on this journey with me!
